Aberlour is the definitive example of a single malt crafted for excellence

It is universally recognised as one of the finest single malt Scotch whiskies being produced today.

Aberlour’s small and intimate distillery is located in a magical spot in the village of Aberlour, Scotland, next to the River Spey, surrounded by water from the Lour Burn, ‘the chattering burn’.

It holds a special place in the hearts of malt lovers who flock to its award-winning visitor centre.

James Fleming, the whisky’s founder, established Aberlour Distillery in 1879, choosing a place that not only provided a sure supply of spring water, but was a place rooted in ancient times, noted for its magical relationship with the water.

Fleming’s mantra of ‘Let the deed show’, manifested itself not only in the whisky he made, but also in his generosity to give back to the town in which he found success - building a hospital, a hall and a bridge for the community, all of which are still utilised today.

Since James Fleming began his quest in 1879 to create the best single malt whisky, Aberlour has won an outstanding list of trophies and medals.

Today, Aberlour’s distillers and blenders have a combined 120 years of experience. It is this depth of experience and unwavering vision that delivers the outstanding quality for which Aberlour is famed.

The expert layering of spirit and cask has created a range of superlative single malt whiskies with layers of complexity and a velvet richness.

The 12 Year Old - The Rich And Sweet One

A classic example of how the Aberlour new make spirit is matured, with a subtle and well balanced ex-sherry cask influence. The citrus character of the new spirit is not overpowered but perfectly complemented and enriched by superlative use of ex-sherry casks.

Every cask of whisky used is perfectly nosed by a member of the whisky making team before being passed. Every ex-sherry cask is nosed personally before being filed with spirit for Aberlour.

The 16 Year Old - The Deep, Soft Fruity One

The fruitiness of the Aberlour spirit has concentrated to a sweet syrup character.

When an ex-sherry cask is destined to mature Aberlour, even the sherry wine that the cask will first contain is nosed and selected personally by Aberlour’s whisky makers, prior to being filled into the casks that will eventually mature Aberlour.

The 18 Year Old - The Mature, Deep, Spicy One

A deeper sherry influence adds more spiciness and a liquorice tang. Greater age adds body and develops the distinctive fruitiness to a rich raisin character.

A’Bunadh - The Hand-crafted One/Moist Raisin Homemade Fruit Cake

THE cult whisky, challenging to make, challenging to savour. Non-chill filtered. Cask strength. This whisky is handmade from start to finish, with each batch being created from scratch.

A’Bunadh is the Gaelic translation for 'origin'. Reproduced as it was at the time of James Fleming, it is produced only in first fill Oloroso Sherry Butts which are both rare and of exceptional quality.
